Is your pet visiting the vet more often than usual?

Pet owners are very quick to take their pet to an expensive vet trip – even for minor issues. Something vets won’t always admit but is a fact: Vets aren’t actually trained in animal nutrition or behaviour (focus on a very small percentage in their vet school training), hence why they cut straight to ‘medicating’ when there’s an issue, which is not treating the core issue. Animal behaviourists are best for behaviour issues, not vets. Animal Naturopath’s like myself can also help treat the core problem of a behaviour using energy therapies, flowers, plants & herbs.

Just as us humans don’t require a doctors advice for our diet, a consult with a vet about what food to give your pet isn’t required unless they have a health condition, even when they try fill you with doubt ‘it won’t be nutritionally balanced’ – it’s not going to be balanced eating commercial pet food with harmful ingredients! Yes, even the prescription brands (which are partnered with the vets).

In fact, the pet food industry is concerning in general, hurting pets health long term (hence cheap pricing).
As long as you are doing your own research on your pets heath condition & safe foods to eat, following advice from an animal naturopath or nutritionist, so more money is saved for when the vet is actually required (serious health condition, surgery or emergencies).

If you’d like your pet (best friend) to be with you for longer – a good place to start is with their diet. Be honest about your pets health- cut down & eventually out altogether, giving them cheap, convenient, high preservative, harmful pet food from your supermarket or vet & you’ll stop wondering why your animal is unwell & notice positive changes – your vet won’t be honest with you about this, as it’s just too profitable for them.
It is horrific seeing so many animals suffer due to their owners being unaware of the cycle they’re in with expensive vet trips & mysterious illnesses their pets experience. I hope I can shed light on this so there’s more awareness.

Making your own pets food is not as daunting as it may seem – if you have an oven, a food processor & a freezer to keep it for up to 3 months – it’s very manageable. I do it for my dog & he is obsessed.

It’s important to listen to your vet when your pet has a serious illness/health condition (requiring a specific diet). Your pets deserve to eat real, fresh food too – follow my advice & do a slow transition & watch how it benefits your pet, as it’s did with mine!

A whole food diet, fresh air, daily movement, enrichment, fresh filtered water, a clean environment – a budget friendly, safe & natural form of prevention, without the side effects..

I know what you’re thinking – ‘me? Cook for my pet? I hardly have time to cook for me!’
It’s a simple roughly hour a week-  carve that out of your week if you’d like your best friend to stick around much longer. It’s a simple lifestyle change that you’ll thank yourself for in the long run. Of course organic, reputable & quality proteins are easily sourceable as well.

A mix of recipes for pets are on the way in my upcoming blogs – stay tuned 🐾
