A recipe with proper nutritional value, without any artificial, synthetic or toxic ingredients- improving your dogs health long term
Prep time: 15 minutes
On a large stainless steel pan on the stove:
- 1 tablespoon Coconut oil or olive oil
- 1/2 sweet potato
- 2 carrot
- 1/2 broccoli
- 1 egg
- 2 large handfuls of baby spinach
- Hemp seeds- 1 teaspoon
- 1 teaspoon of ginger & turmeric
- 1/2 cup of organic oats
- 500 grams lamb or protein mince
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon psyllium husk
- Cook all ingredients on stove on low heat- (boil veggies first) & leave to cool
- Blend all in food processor
- Shape into dry pieces or just pour mix onto tray with baking paper 2x
- Cook in oven for 1-1.5 hours on 140-160 degrees, turn over/mix up so all bits 2-3 times throughout & put back in for another hour or until crunchy & golden brown
Expiry: for 6 days in fridge, otherwise freeze to keep freshness (I keep a quarter out, freeze the rest & take out what I need each week)
When thawed from freezer to fridge, use within 6 days.
Do not re-freeze.
Store in freezer for up to 4 months
Cost: approx up to $13.5 for a months worth of morning home made dry for 18kg, medium sized dog.
